![]() ![]() ![]() I would really like to see 2 anthology books given a shot. They are: DC Gold: A book reprinting stories from the 30's to 50's. DC Silver: A book reprinting stories from the beginning of the Silver Era in the 50's, to the beginning of Crisis. As a child in the seventies, I loved the old stories that would show up in the extra-large issues (which sadly, are no longer done), and I would love a chance to see the stories presented in a format that cost less than $50! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I think most posters here would like to see more frequent, affordable reprints from DC. Their 80 pagers and 100 pagers have been a lot of fun, but there's plenty of room for more. I would like to see DC try a monthly reprint series of older material (say, anything before 1980.) They should try a title that they feel has the best chance for success. Give it a year, twelve issues, to prove itself. If it fails -- okay, maybe the time isn't quite right for reprints. But if it succeeds, expand the reprint line from one book to three, and see how it fairs. My guess at the book with the greatest chances for success: a Batman reprint series. I would go for an 80 page format, with a lead story from the Haney/Aparo Brave and the Bold issues, and backups from other eras of the Dark Knight. A good mix might include a Superman teamup with Swan art from World's Finest; at least one story featuring a prominent Bat-villain, especially the Joker; and a detective story from the fifties. ![]() ![]() ![]() I think we will have to do with the 80 and 100 pagers. IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() quote: You may be right. It occurred to me earlier today that the model for the 80 or 100 pager I mentioned has already been tried, by Marvel. They had a Spider-Man Megazine and a Marvel Super-Heroes Megazine several years ago, and neither lasted a year. I am curious how the 80 pagers and 100 pagers sell for DC. If the sales warrant it, maybe the frequency will be stepped up eventually. One of those each month would be a dream come true. IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() DC already puts out between 200 and 500 pages of classic reprints each month. That's enough for me! - Bill IP: Logged |
